Roti Reminder and Shop Elsewhere pick up Bronze at Cannes 2013

At the Kumbh Mela 2013 in Allahabad (India), where a 100 million visitors are expected, Lifebuoy along with its activation partner OgilvyAction decided to spread the message of handwashing by creating a special heat stamp and stamped 2.5 million rotis (Indian Bread) with the message 'Did you wash your hands with Lifebuoy?'

After an intense week at Cannes the new best work in the world has been decided. The gods were with Ogilvy again and for the second time in a row it was awarded the Network of the Year title with a record-breaking tally of 155, including 4 Grands Prix and the Agency of the Year title for Ogilvy Brazil.

Our contribution to that tally, albeit small, has also made history. Both OgilvyAction India and OgilvyAction Hong Kong have won their first ever Lions. India’s Roti Reminder (above) received a Bronze PR Lion for Best Corporate Responsibility Campaign and Hong Kong’s Shop Elsewhere (below) was awarded a Bronze Direct Lion for Best Use of Mobile Marketing.

Shop Elsewhere was also shorlisted in Direct for Best Acquisition campaign and OgilvyAction Malaysia got a shortlist as well for its Cadbury ‘Say it with Chocolate’ campaign (below) in the Design / Point of Sale category.

In a time where social media has rendered words virtually meaningless, Cadbury Dairy Milk gives people the chance to say something sincere for once.

Given the amount and quality of our entries this year, we all certainly expected more. But let’s not lose perspective here. A few years back (even just one year ago) this result was unimaginable for these offices. They all have come a long way, even those who couldn’t reach the finalist status. I’m inmensely proud and satisfied with the progress. Kudos to all who went the extra mile to make such a great body of work come to life.

On to new exciting possibilities now with the introduction of Geometry Global. Keep the momentum.
