Tired of posting on Facebook? Your profile must be tired too and needs a holiday.
To promote the unexpected destinations within Cape Town (the very local attractions that don’t show up on Lonely Planet or Trip Advisor), the Cape Town Tourism Board created an online campaign that allowed you to send your Facebook profile on a holiday and report back in your own Timeline the fun activities in the shape of photos, videos and status updates to the point that many of your friends would believe you were on a real holiday.
Some lucky winners, of course, got the chance to live it for real, and thousands of friends discovered the many interesting possibilities hidden in the beautiful South African city.
The campaign has generated great results for the overall turism figures and in particular for the small businesses that need it most.
