German shoe retailer Goertz created this neat application of Augmented Reality to allow passersby in crowded train stations to try new shoes on.
Not the first of its kind but certainly a notch up in terms of execution. The devices deliver a far more accurate rendering and a couple more additions make it quite unique.
After trying the shoes, people could share a few snapshots on Facebook to get their friend’s opinions. And upon selection, an exclusive QR code with the model and shoe size was generated, redirecting shoppers to the online checkout for next day delivery.
Both this one and the Tesco Virtual Store from last year are good reasons to expect more mobile shopping ideas in the near future.
