Check-in to a different continent

Air China wanted to promote themselves in the Swedish market as an airline that not only carries Europeans to Asia but also connects them to a vast network of Asian destinations.

Rather than relying on expensive media, they cut a deal with an assortment of Asian restaurants and allowed patrons to check-in via QR codes to participate in a simple promotion. The more check-ins, the more chances to win a free trip to China, while the leader board was exposed on Facebook for all to see and share.
