Adfest 2011 results: The world’s first waiting line on a website

A few weeks ago the results came out for Adfest, one of Asia’s premier award shows. Finally the work is online on Adfest’s website and we’ll be covering the best ideas in the next few days.

The one above is the Promo Lotus Grand Prix, for fashion brand Uniqlo.

The Japanese retailer has trumped itself once again with another brilliant piece of digital activation.

As they explain on the video, in 2009 hundreds of people lined up outside the stores at 6 am for a special morning sale. In 2010, they replicated the experience online. People could join the line and queue up on their website by signing up with Facebook and Twitter. Very simple but achieved record sales for the brand.

And again, true innovation in the use of online advertising.
